Yes We Can!

Well, Barack Obama did it! And, he accepted the Democratic nominee for President of the United States just 20 minutes away from our house in St. Paul.

I really wanted to go, but I was there in spirit. If you didn't get a chance to watch his speech, you owe it to yourself to watch it. Barack is the real deal, and I can't wait until he leads us to bring real change to this country...after 8 years of Bush, we really need it.

Paul,

Been a while since I stopped by to get a look at your kids. Can't believe how they are growing.

Not that I am trying to wind you up, but ... what kind of change are you expecting Obama to lead us to? I'm not as optomistic as you. I don't think anyone can affect change in us.

Side note - I did get to hear Obama speak at an engineering lunchean downtown a couple of years ago. He presents himself well.

Hi Marty!

First of all, if you don't think we need a change after the 8-year Bush presidency, then there is nothing I can say to change your mind.

However, I truly believe that our country needs a big change, from focusing on the environment, diplomacy instead of war, caring about the poor and unfortunate...just to name a few.

Now, can Obama change all of this alone? Absolutely not. But, he is poised to be the catalyst for this change and I believe has the courage to move America to be a leader again in the world.

If you haven't read his books or watched his latest speeches, I encourage you to do so. His words and his energy want me to be a better person and a better American. We (the people of America) need to start working together and find common ground instead of what divides us...that is the only way that WE can be successful as a nation.

I believe Obama is the leader who can help us do that.
